IEC 61169-32:1999 pdf download.Radio-frequency connectors – Part 32: RF coaxial connectors with inner diameter of outer conductor 1,85 mm (0,072 in) with screw coupling
1 General
1.1 Scope
This part of IEC 61 1 69 standardizes the interface and ratings of the type 1 ,85 r.f. connectors of
50 impedance and having a screw coupling mechanism. These connectors can be
intermated with other 1 ,85 mm and 2,4 mm connectors.
These connectors are recommended for use with semi-rigid and flexible cable and in
microwave applications requiring high performance.
These connectors have an operating frequency range of up to 65 GHz.
1.2 Normative references
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text,
constitute provisions of this part of IEC 61 1 69. For dated references, subsequent amendments
to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, parties to agreements
based on this part of IEC 61 1 69 are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the
most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the
latest edition of the normative document referred to applies. Members of IEC and ISO maintain
registers of currently valid International Standards.

2.1.1 Dimensions – Grade 1 connectors
Millimetres are original dimensions.
All undimensioned pictorial configurations are for reference purposes only.
2.1.3.4 Test sequence
a) Steel test pin (figure 5) with a diameter a of 0,5233 mm ± 0,001 5 mm (0,0206 in ± 0,00006 in)
and a length b of 0,68 mm to 1 ,02 mm (0,027 in to 0,040 in) shall be inserted once into the
centre contact.
b) A second steel test pin (figure 5) with a diameter a of 0,4845 mm ± 0,001 5 mm (0,01 907 in
± 0,00006 in) and a length b of 1 ,09 mm to 1 ,65 mm (0,043 in to 0,065 in) and a 0,4 m
(1 6 in) maximum finish shall be inserted into the centre contact.
This gauge when in a vertical downward attitude shall be retained by the contact.
This gauge will have a mass (weight) of 25 g.
3 Quality assessment procedures
3.1 General
The following subclauses provide recommended ratings, performance and test conditions to be
considered when writing a detail specification (DS). They also provide an appropriate schedule
of tests with minimum levels of conformance inspection.
3.2 Ratings and characteristics
The r.f. connectors defined in this standard are designed for use with a variety of flexible and
semi-rigid coaxial cables and in microwave integrated circuits and similar uncabled
applications.
